Fantastic Planets, When Humans Become Alien’s Pets.

 Summary : This animated tale follows the relationship between the small human-like Oms and their much larger blue-skinned oppressors, the Draags, who rule the planet of Ygam. While the Draags have long kept Oms as illiterate pets, this hierarchy shifts after an Om boy becomes educated, thanks to a young female Draag. This leads to an Om rebellion, which weakens the Draag’s control over their race. Will the Oms and the Draags find a way to coexist? Or will they destroy each other?

Synopsis & My review     : (Warning, might contain spoilers)

Do you have pets at home? Do you love them dearly? What if they dug up the knowledge that humans know and choose to rebel against you? 

In this movie, you are the one who becomes a pet and plaything. On a planet called Ygam, humans become pets to a creature named Draag. They are so massive and have blue skin. Civilization on this planet is so advanced.

On this planet, aside from Draag, there is also human, but they called them Oms. Oms is so little compared to Draag, for example, it is like comparing human size to a little mouse. The Draag often dress Oms and also have them fight each other, this is so familiar with what some humans do to their pets such as chickens and bulls.

The Draag treats Oms like animals, and some of them treat Oms like pets. For example, when you trap a little ant inside a cup and watch them go around the circle. The daily life of Oms basically is like that.

One of Oms narrated the story, that ever since he was a baby, his mother was being killed by the Draag who play with her by lifting her up in the air and then releasing her below and causing her to fall and die. One of the Draag takes a liking to the baby and keeps him as her pet. This baby is named Terr, and he is the one who is going to make the important changes between the Draags and Oms life.

Terr is being kept as a pet by Tiwa, a Draag kid. She always brings Terr wherever she goes. Either when she was playing with her friends or studying. Draag has devices like headphones to transfer knowledge to Draag kids directly into their brains, this activities call The Infos. And Tiwa’s learning devices have some damage so Terr could hear everything when Tiwa is learning. From this moment on, whenever Tiwa is learning, Terr would listen and also learn the lesson.

As time passed and Tiwa become a teenager, she didn’t play with Terr anymore so Terr ran away from there. He brings along the headband to continue learning The Infos. Tiwa realized ‌her headphone was gone and so did Terr and she report this to her mother. During his escape, Terr is meeting with a girl and she brings him back to her colonies. At first, the colonies didn’t trust Terr but then Terr can convince them while showing and explaining to them that the device he held might become a weapon to fight against the Draag.

The device help Terr and other oms to learn and educate themselves. And as time goes by, they are building and planning civilizations to rebel against the Draag. And when they found Draag’s weakness such as they did meditation by releasing their soul or into a bubble and descending to someplace thus leaving their body defenseless. 

In that special place, they are doing something similar to a mating dance. When the Oms found this, they waste no time and plan to attack. Amidst the chaos, the Oms cornered the Draag with their new intelligence and In the end, the Oms and the Draag reach an agreement that they will live peacefully without bothering each other ever again.

The visual in this film is basically amazing. Every detail is so good that I could imagine what it feels like out there beyond earth. Such a fantastic planet indeed. Slavery by aliens has been told many times in various stories. For example, there is wild speculation that aliens built the pyramids in Egypt.

The story of The Annunaki that came from planet Nibiru might be a story that is very similar to the aliens from Fantastic Planets. These Sumerian gods’ origin was unknown that which suggests that they are coming from outside of planet earth. Zecharia Sitchin stated the Annunaki use humans as a slave race to mine gold from the earth. Thus the Annunaki is the one who chooses kings to rule the world but they are still under their influence. The Annunaki is define as reptilian. If you ‌look at the Draag, they have some kind of gill on each side of their head; it functions as ears. According to Sitchin, Nibiru was the home of a technologically advanced human-like extraterrestrial race (called the Anunnaki in Sumerian myth) who were called the Nephilim in the Bible. This is very similar according to Planet Ygaam, the technology on that planet is so advanced for example the Infos that is used to learn and transfer all information directly to the brain. How wonderful it is if that device exists in real life, we didn’t have to study at all.

Up until now,  things like aliens or vice versa are still not yet been found. Their whereabouts is still a mystery and if they really exist, would they do the same thing as the Draags and used human as their slave, pet, and toys? I really hope those wouldn’t happen tho.

Lastly, this movie is really great and thought-provoking. The lesson is you can’t underestimate small creatures because when they are together they could rebel against you so beware. This movie might be in animated format but this really is not a movie for a child. If you like sci-fi animation, I strongly recommend this movie, and happy watching!
